Desiree Langenfeld

Plastics Science and Policy Biologist, IISD-ELA

Desiree Langenfeld is a Plastics Science and Policy Biologist at IISD Experimental Lakes Area. 

She manages and coordinates the daily fieldwork activities related to research exploring the fate, transport and effects of microplastics on freshwater lakes. She also works to build and inform policies intended to curb plastic pollution. 

Desiree holds a Master of Science in entomology where her research focused on the effects of microplastics on zooplankton communities using in-lake mesocosms.
